Concerned Sportsmen should contact Senator Jackson while he continues to receive input on his 2016 “Sportsman Tax Act”.

Please politely email Senator Brent Jackson directly at Brent.Jackson@ncleg.net

Or you are encouraged to reach him at either of the contact numbers he list below.

The General Assembly predicts this Tax will generate $69,000.00 in revenue to the Deer Farming Association.

Of which, the Deer Farmers only contribute $2,000.00 leaving Sportsmen stuck with funding the other $67,000.00.

It should be known Senator Jackson "FAILED" to Fully Convey these figures to the House Finance Committee, only stating the revenue was minimal.

It's very obvious they also left out the annual license sales likely in an effort to keep an appearance of "minimal revenue"...

When all figured the Sportsmen could generate an amount that could approach 1/4 Million Dollars on a reoccurring basis.

Much of Sportsmen's money could then be used against the ethics they support by Deer Farmers hiring big money lobbyist and paying for it with "Sportsman's" Funds!

All eyes should remain glued to this Bill assuming some in the GA will be... beholding to 6 Deer Farmers vs 1.2M Sportsmen!

So how does a Deer Farmer (Retired Food Lion CEO) Tom Smith "Twist" a Senator's arm to run such a Bill?

With a "Check"...

Given the Bills Language, this is Tax levied on Deer Hunters for the "Benefit" of Deer Farmers.

Further, these funds are to be used to "Promote" the Cervid Industry (Paying Lobbyist).

Additionally these funds can be used for administrative expenses to support that purpose; Office Staff etc.

All, for the most part, paid for by the Sportsmen.  Yes, now the Deer Farmers expect the Sportsmen to "Fund" their Marketing Budget!

The NC Deer & Elk Farmers Association have successfully levied a TAX on ALL NC Deer Hunters Processed Cervid Feed & Supplement purchases at a rate of up to $4.00 per ton. This sneaky last minute change occurred this morning 6/28 in the House Ag Committee Meeting.

The Bill directs the Deer Corn TAX Revenue to the NCDOR where it's distributed quarterly and made payable to the NC Deer & Elk Farmers Association to "Promote" & Grow NC Deer Farming. Meaning this new TAX levied on every NC Deer Hunter will generate tens of thousands of dollars and now the Deer Farmers have forced the NC Sportsmen to "Fund" their high power Lobbyist in Raleigh to promote & fund their private business.

Yes, Sportsmen are now Funding Deer Farmers private sector businesses via "subsidy"!

Listen in live @12:00 noon (today) to the Finance Committee meeting as it is sure to get heated!
