And the North Carolina CRFL funding process for new, worthwhile, legitimate proposals has been put on hold too until an undetermined date. However, look on the bright side of this delay:  the crappy, questionable, incestuous ones are not being approved either.

Beatty - Its interesting nothing but Cricketts from NCDMF.  No Director, No word on missing CRFL funds, No corrective action...

While NCDMF continues to drag their feet and show their total lack of leadership, NC Anglers previously paid federal excise taxes are no longer eligible for North Carolina.

With nearly 60 days since USFWS placed NCDMF on notice of non-compliance, no effort has been made to correct the deficiency, serving to bring North Carolina into compliance of 50 CFR 80 and available to receive federal excise taxes.

Leadership??

Watermen want to know what happened to commercial license fees that were collected to fund observers required by law for flounder fishing when sea turtles are spotted in area waters.

Few answers were provided at a meeting of the North Carolina Commercial Fishing Resource Funding Committee on Jan. 4.

Records show that $1.3 million was allocated for the observers in the 2015-2016 fiscal year, but only $608,065 was spent.
